Helix Jump 5.6.3

Here's a game for tired folk. Masked as a jumping ball challenge, Helix Jump is more of a past time than a hard arcade game. Nevertheless, that is still good.

Your goal is to make the ball reach the bottom of the cylinder tower. The ledges around it do nothing more than delay your descent. However, if you manage to fall past several of them in succession, you get to break the one that you eventually drop onto, hastening your pace and improving your score, if you care about such things. Still, there's also a dangerous aspect to falling on a ledge. The off-colored segments will deflate your ball, so you better stay clear of them, unless falling from a great height.

That about sums up all the gameplay in Helix Jump. The game still seems to be somewhat not finished. Even though there are options buttons for sound and custom colors, they don't seem to work. The colors button also shows a "coming soon" message, so development is still underway.

Since I enjoyed this one, I would also like to see them tweak the difficulty progression. Helix Jump doesn't seem to get harder as you progress, no matter how many levels you complete. Of course, I don't want to bite my tongue later if it becomes frustratingly difficult, but at the same time, you can't feel any accomplishment without having gone through adversity.

Final Thoughts

Helix Jump looks excellent and is very easy to get into playing it full-on. Although there are definite hints that the game is still being worked on, playing this version is just fine, and probably works as a good training session for what's to come.
